Battle for 'The Bell'

Montague leads Whitehall 52-47-2 in a balanced series, including last year's 34-0 victory. I believe this is the second oldest rivalry in the state.

Will humiliate my Montague bred kids by wearing my Whitehall shirt. :) Having lived in both cities and knowing kids from both sides of the river, I end up rooting for whoever makes a good play. I just get a kick out of the kids wailing, "mommmmmmmm" when they see my Viking shirt!

First off all,congratulations. Secondly, I was on the Viking squad. OK, 1961-65 but I was still there. Those were the days of intense rivalry and school pride. I assume it's the same now. You didn't have much opportunity to brag back then but you sure deserve it now.
Does anyone remember the Viking basketball team back then? Candystripe uniforms,Globetrotter warm up routine. Players like Mike Iverson, Rich Hall, and Maurice Kennebrew? Those were great memories, and I'm sure maybe 30-40 years down the road you'll remember your 42-21 victory and it will still bring a smile to your face. Enjoy now, but watch your back. The Vikings have a way of evening things out!
